Our Vision

The Union seeks to see the Engine Shed become a vibrant new hub of student activity.

A space that will become base from which over 300 student volunteers organise events and activities for over 3000 members of Sports and Societies.

A home for our advice and support services in a distinctive venue that proudly asserts our independence from the University.

The nexus of our representation network of 500 Course Reps, providing a space for open forums, debate and discussion.

A venue for year-round training programmes of over 1100 volunteers in transferable employability skills, accredited by the University through their Employability certification.

A social space for students and staff to entertain visitors, enjoy a coffee or grab a light meal.

We seek to see the Engine Shed act as a unique destination from which to better engage the local community and our external partners

A desirable venue for the local community to meet and participate in student activity, events and campaigns

A space in which the Students' Union can engage local voluntary partners in the provision of supporting services and activities

A destination for local businesses to engage the student body and the local community, through conferences, meetings or training sessions
